Vintage Cotton Weaving Shuttle - Wooden Flying Shuttle From A Lancashire Mill

Nice collectible flying shuttle from the mills of Lancashire.

Made from wood with brass end covers, these were at the heart of the cotton weaving industry in Lancashire. A loom would have had many of these flying backwards and forwards weaving the cloth. Inside, each one carried a bobbin of thread.

This is an original, used item with authentic signs of wear inside. It is marked on one end with the manufacturers name - Albert Hall and Sons Bury and on the other with the number 53.

A great item just on its own for display or as a pen rest on a desk perhaps?

Measures approximately 35cm long x 5cm wide x 3.5cm deep.
