This vintage smokers cabinet in oak is a delightful art deco era period piece.
The raised arch panel on the door adds to it's ornamental appeal and it looks great as it is but could easily be used for another purpose such as a jewellery box or display case for example.
It's quite unusual for a vintage smokers cabinet to still have it's original lock and key but this one does and it's all in perfect working order. Opening the door allows the lid to be lifted up, revealing a wrap around rack with six holes for pipes (or necklaces). Underneath is a shelf with two large grooves front to back and an indentation for a bowl or tray. Beneath that is a small drawer to house all the nick-knacks.
In really great condition and the solid oak cabinetry the wood has a wonderful deep, rich colour.
On the bottom of the door is a plaque marking the presentation of the box to it's original owner on his retirement in 1935. We hope he had a long and enjoyable one.
